long time no see

okay okay alright okay! I know I have been out of touch lately and I hate that. I am sorry for not writing sooner but I am upside down under in Australia walking with the wombats and swilling Tooheys Lager. Lots of time on an airplane can drive a man insane. This is a photo Milan took and then I got all funky on photoshop on the plane. I was standing in front of the Vanguard in Newtown (a cool suburb of Sydney) waiting to go on stage. I wish all of you guys on the other end of the world could be here. It is so beautiful this time of the year. Thanks to all in Brisbane for 2 great nights at The Troubadour. I am going to start writing more now that I have figured out how to get online. Right now I am in Perth and it is already tomorrow. You guys are going to have a crappy day tomorrow because i have already seen it. You may as well stay in bed all day and paint your toenails and watch Jimmy Swaggert reruns.

Garageband rocks and I will figure out how to post some weirdness tomorrow.

Eat your vegemite you wankers.
G'day mateys,
Steven Cobber Poltz

I predict that your prediction will be wrong. Today is a wonderful day and will be even better tomorrow in hindsight. What day is it there? Is it Tuesday yet? Can you tell me what the Lotto Pick Six will be on Saturday in Virginia? If you get even 5 of the 6 right, I will give you 6.2 cents everytime I play one of your songs.
Glad you're having fun! Please explain what's so wonderful about Tooheys in 50 words or more.

Yay Steve!! I can't believe you are back in Perth! Can't wait for the show tomorrow night... I don't suppose you could play either "I killed Walter Mathau" or "Everything about you" for me tomorrow night? Pretty pretty pretty please with a cherry on top? I'll do.... almost anything ;)

So, when you say you'll post some weirdness tomorrow, do you mean the tomorrow that it already is, or the tomorrow that it will be the day after the tomorrow that it is right now?

Tomorrow Is Today. I like old Billy Joel best.

Let me tell you this my friends ... I have not had two nights as wonderous in God knows how long! Not that I ever doubted the powers of the good man Poltz and his new gals Lola and Steak Knife (business partners only in case you're all wondering) but they we're incredibly special shows! Go to as many as you can and you'll never get enough ... I promise!

Old Billy Joel is good. Any aged Tom Waits is better.

Steve, watch oot for the locusts, Humongous (the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla) and Master Blaster.

Who runs Bartertown? Master Blaster.

Two men enter, one man leave.

Damm, that sounds like a scary country.

Hey Steve,

If a kangaroo gets unruly, grab a sheild, reach around and grab its tail. If all goes've caught a roo by the tail and can steer it to a local pub for an ale. If not, you may be picking up your guts off the ground. If you're really adventurous, try it without the shield!

As a foremost yank on roos, trust me.
If you come across a cross koala...I can offer no!!!

I'll tell you what's so good about Tooheys. It is like the first kiss only better, more intoxicating, perfume filled, I'm talking about the first kiss you ever had in your like, the musical note that the can makes when you open it sounds like this pfffffssssssttttt! It is better than a funeral and funerals are fun, but this is even funner. In fact you can make up your own words after several cans. Funner than funner would now be funneirieriererere. This beer tastes better than the sweat out of the armpit of a carny in the middle of July at the state fair in Iowa working the ferris wheel. Do you now understand what I mean Ms. P? Oh by the way did I mention the aroma? It smells like a sweet Virgina town not unlike the one where a mentally ill girl lives that I know. I hope this answers your question about what's so special aboot Tooheys lager.

Mr SJJ Poltz,

How can you like that crap? I'm a Caarrrrlton Draught girl myself (the stuff that Christian gave you at the Perth gig) and Toohey's is an evil evil drink. I think it is the only thing guaranteed to give me a hangover after 2 glasses (whereas I could quite happily drink a bucket of Carlton and not even remotely have a headache the next day... if, in fact, i wake up at all... but thats another story).

P.S I just wanted to say that I LOVED LOVED LOVED your show in Freo on Saturday night... please come back soon!!
