late night tweaking of the geetar

I wish I would go to sleep like a normal person, guy/dude. But here it is at 3:30 in da mornin' and I'm strumming the git-box and walking around the hissing snakes on the floor and singing to them. Listen below to the lullaby I'm recording in my little bat hole.
Listen Here Bloggers
Lullaby Song
I'm alone in the city tonight
Nothin' really feels right
I'd love to hold you in my arms
and sing you a lullaby song
I'll sing you to sleep with a lullaby song
when you're in my arms
nothin' can go wrong
My heart is worth its weight in gold
I'd love to grow to be real old
I feel you pumping through my veins
A stinging love can't be wrong
A love that stings can't be wrong
When you're in my arms
Nothin' can go wrong
The moon is dangling in the sky
From a fishing pole way up high
I'm thinkin' of you as I sing this song
I'm wonderin' if you're singin' along
I'm hopin' that you're wonderin' if I'm singin' this song
When you're in my arms
Nothin' can go wrong
I'm alone in the city tonight
Nothin' really feels right
I'd love to hold you in my arms
and sing you a lullaby song
I'll sing you to sleep with a lullaby song
when you're in my arms
nothin' can go wrong

Morning Steve, I'm at work and can't hear this, but I love the lyrics!
See ya soon
very nice, steverino. doesn't even sound homemadey. and the echoey thing is cool. your voice floats.
This song is really sentimental and heart warming. Background music is great. Everyday I'm more and more moved by your talent.
ciao for now
did you go postal and kill all of those lil' kooks last night?
i haven't heard this song since the hotel cafe... how long ago? i'm glad it's back from the sauce grave & sounding sweeter than ever.
~a
I think that this song would make Lou Barlow cry... and the Modern art! It reminds me a bit of the Italian artist Matta... beautiful stuff... the dream-stuff that blogs are made of...
i wish i could play music so i could put my garage band to work. hmmmm.
i like it steve. it's perty.
yearning wraped in a womb of sound.
I want to own it on a CD.
I 'member that from some boots. It's very sweet.
I agree with floaty and not homeadey
Pole-
I can't hear this at werk either, but I'm digging on the lyrics. Please play this for me this weekend.

westy,
sorry about the rash. it should clear up in a day or so. just keep rubbing ointment on it.
dino
hmm...on second thought, maybe this wasn't the right forum for that. I take it back we can talk in private.
yours in christ,
dino
Awsome Steve - Garage Band?
Sounds quite Neil Youngey...
Lyrics are sweet... wish i could listen - for some reason my computer won't play your songs lately... where is that Genie when i need him?
Oh yeah, maybe it's cause I'm Giving u up for Lent!
Did u get your ashes today?
was that you 3:30 in the morning
made me worry your heart's storming again
I opened the window to yell shut up and sleep
but your song brought me such
peace
that I had to drink your
rain
nothing can go wrong
if I only belong
in your arms
Posted at 3:38 am? get some sleep man...
this is way cool, it's calm, laid back and relaxed... spacey a little, like that rolling guitar sound...
reminds me of ... the beach boys

JC aka not the carpenter who died on the cross...the other JC
You are getting veeeeeeeerrrrrrry sleeeeeeepy. Listen to JC. Come to Chicago. Then Kansas City after that. When you wake up, you will have no recollection of where JC touched you.
Hey Steve,
Wow.. what a wonderful song. It does sound kind of beach boyzie... But you put your tweak on it to give it that poltz kick! Wow.. You have a winner here!!! This is a definite for sure song on your next cd I hope! I'm going to scoop my loved one up, slow dance with her as she steps on my bare feet and dances with me to this lovely song! Keep up the great songs.... you bring sooo much cheer and love into our house with your beautiful songs and melodys...
And if you need any help with photoshop.. let me know? I can give you some tips... remember that photo of Kyle in your "live at Largo" cd. That was done with Photoshop 7.0
Cheers,
Mark
Was that Sean of Cheers?! This is Kim from TN. It doesn't look like Mr. Poltz is coming to the Southeast anytime soon and the doctor ordered up some rejuvenation. Soooo I'm sending my ass on a San Diego vacation which includes fabulous live music. I'm looking forward to sunny CA!
Cheers Dude...
Kim
Mr. Poltz,
I think you should produce my record and we should record it using only garage band...
whattya say?
=)
yer good.
Such a calming cool song with really great effects, I want it on a disc too, I wish I could see you. I'll have to check the schedule...perty song.
Wow. A bona fide love song, without wandering eyes, tampon dispensers, menudo, faxes from Iceland (I can't spell Reykjavik), smiley faces or chocolate sweets...just a nicely crafted tune with sweet lyrics. Nicely done, Steve. Hope to hear that one in Berkeley next month.
Martin
awesome possum.
is friday good for you?
Kim from TN, Look forward to meeting you, Steve's show at Cheers is always fun. I'm sure you will have great time. See you on the 10th of March.
I think it is an absolutely beautiful song, everything about it. I don't think it sounds like the Beach Boys. It reminds me a lot more of Neil Young. When i heard it, i immediatly thought of the song "Harvest". After relistening, and then listening to "Harvest", there is only one or two lines that really remind me of that in your song. However, both of the songs have a real calming effect. So in all, your new song is quite lovely.
Steve,
Hope you are staying safe and dry there in SD. I saw the flooding in Mission Beach. Hope all is well. BTW, your Dad kicks ass!
