The Spider and the Bumblebee

This is a very cool poem my Dad made up the other day. It inspired me to write music to it. I think we are going to make a c.d. of childrens poems together. So hurry up and have a kid so we can make some money off of you. The sun is shining today and I feel better than James Brown.
Thanks for all your birthday wishes. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
love,
Steve

The spider and the bumblebee
A spider spun his web one day beneath an apple tree.
“I’ll see what I can snare,” said he, for he was hungry as can be.
A big fat bumblebee flew by, amazed by this wondrous sight.
He saw this gleaming web like wonder shimmering in the morning light.
“I’ll just drop down to check this out,” he thought it was so cool.
But suddenly he became entwined he surely was a fool.
No matter how he struggled, no matter how he fought,
he could not seem to free himself, he was securely caught.
The spider rushed toward his prey, preparing to eat this juicy thing.
“Come any closer,” said the bee, “and you will feel my deadly sting.”
They eyed each other for quite sometime during that hot and sunny day,
when along came a bullfrog who gobbled them up, and hopped merrily on his way.

Hi Steve and Dad Poltz,
Well, Kyle liked it! His favorite part was the ending when the bullfrog came by and ate both of them. he thought that was funny! Nice to meet you Sr. Poltz at the Cerritos performing arts center. We would have brought Kyle had i known it was an all ages type show. I've emailed the poem and the lyrics to Kyle now. Only 8 yrs old.. and he knows more about computers when i was 24! Geezzzzz...
I think it is great you two will work on a children's CD. You have your first customer here. Kyle already has cornflakes, and baseball on his pc. Along with a bunch of Steve's more mello tunes like 98 Pounder, and holliston street! And we have a CD of Steve's mellower stuff that our 3 yr old "Ally" goes to bed to!!! Seriously, she falls asleep after the 2nd or 3rd song ! Like morning song... she is sleepy, ten chances... then by "everything about you" presto she is out like a light! So steve you have gone from feeding Mommy and baby Deer Acid... to putting little ones to sleep! Lol...
Your music is maturing... ;-) Anyhow...
What a wonderful Poem Mr. Sr. Poltz. And great music to go with it Steve. And such a nice Sunday to enjoy it too!
Thanks Guys!
Cheers,
Mark and Kyle!
Raya loves it, she loves all your stuff. Totally cool... :D
Dear Mister Polio Sir:
I'll give you all the money I got. Just please don't make me have a kid.
Thank you in advance,
Frag :)
Good job, Familia Poltz!
How was the cake, Steve? Or did you play mailbox baseball with it?
Firestone-Walker Porter is one fine beverage.
I'll double whatever frag pays you to make sure he doesn't have a kid too...
love this one. poppoltz has such a great voice for kids' poems...really soft and loving. how'd you end up so twisted?...of course, I mean that in a good way.
I was just wondering if it would make me a bad mom if I let my kids sing along to Handjob on a Churchbus? just asking...
I suppose this one is wholesomer. and homemadey too. :-)
I find it amusing that you are telling *this* bunch to have children. ;)
L loves spider everything, We would play it for all of her friends if we had a copy.
Papa's so nice and wise
sometimes in life
we think we got the control
and put on a show
in one moment
just to find out next
what a torment
is to be
seating on a bullfrog's guts
having no doubts
this is all Steve Poltz
fault
Love your song...nice guitarrrrr...
That was very cool. I am so happy to have stumbled across this. Have a wonderful journey!!!
