Just back from south by southwest in Austin Tejas. Elvis Costello played like a young 18 year old full of testosterone. A 2 plus hour set full of the old and the new. John Doe was amazing to watch and so were The Scabs. I think I rocked too. Well maybe I did. Then again, I may have only kind of rocked. No... I didn't rock. Stinky did. I didn't rock at all. I played like an 80 year old man high on Ensure. I didn't get a huge record deal and Rolling Stone didn't come to my show either. Idiots. I think I'll go get some shut eye. I want to dream that I am a race car driver and I can pee in a bottle of yoo hoo while I fly around the track track at speeds of over 23 miles per hour. Wait a minute... maybe I shouldn't dream about peeing while I am sleeping.

We are driving in your car
And planning a thanksgiving dinner
Your folks are coming
With your grandma
So are mine with uncle louie

Ahh ahh a ahh Ahh ahh a ahh

I steal a kiss and you are laughing
The telephone rings it’s my sister Kathy
She’ll bake a pie if she’s able
I think we’ll need a larger table

Ahh ahh a ahh Ahh ahh a ahh

I don’t want to wake up
I just want to dream all day

We are living in a cottage
Near the ocean waves are crashing
See the garden that we planted
The seeds are sprouting nothing bad has happened

Ahh ahh a ahh Ahh ahh a ahh

Your eyes seem like they are all knowing
You read my soul all my lies are showing
I reach for you to stroke your hair
But you have vanished into thin air

Ahh ahh a ahh Ahh ahh a ahh

I don’t want to wake up
I just want to dream all day

I only dream in Technicolor
I only dream of you my lover
I dream of you each passing night
Every every every every every night
Every every every every every night

Rolling Stone sucks. They ARE idiots! They don't deserve to get to see your show.
And yes, dreaming about peeing is not a good idea. It might make a good album title, though.
See ya in 28 days. :)

I think you rocked too ... even though I wasn't there, I still bet you did. =)

Steve if this Elvis guy rocked so much, maybe you can let him warm up for you on your northern california tour, give him a chance to play for some really enthusiastic audiences, let him sell a few CDs, and give him a few songwriting tips too...we'll see y'all in Berkeley! Yoo Hoo!!

I dream of you of all the singers
your dark hair tangled in my fingers
the hot air that surrounds your space
and the stupid things you dear embrace
your love is like lava coming down to meet the sea
your smile waterfalls of ice and sweet tea
I just don't like to wake up and see
my love strangled in your lasso
stop making me love you

Well, I dig the song as much as all your other adoring fans, however, I don't think it sounds ryan adamish nor nick drakeish....I think it sounds steve poltzish, with a little help from some sort of mood enhancer or mood dehancer?!?!?!? Fun stuff!!! Now I feel like peeing. catcha in beantown :) :) :)

"You're living in a cottage by the sea
with white walls
and wide windows
where you can just Breathe

there's a path made of stones
it's been a long way home

and from high up
you hear the sea roam

you hear all the spaces in between
you see colors and lights
and you are living the dream

the one you had the night before
and when Love comes
and knocks upon your door

you let her in
and you're brought back again

to the sound of the sea
the sound as you breathe
the sound of all the spaces in between

the rolling stone
is finally home
and the songs still come
as the sea roams

who would know love
could write songs
like a broken heart
who would know love
is always waiting to start...."
