I watched a guy get his tooth pulled in Morocco
In a jam packed square in Marrakech
By a so called dentist with a monkey on a leash
With a pair of pliers in his paws
And as the dentist would pull on the monkey’s arm
The monkey would yank on the tooth
And that monkey was grinning from ear to ear
And the crowd was starting to cheer
Now I’ve seen a lot of things
Huge shiny diamond rings
And I’ve seen two grown men cry
But I never saw the light
Like I did in your eyes

Watched a guy get sick on a rolling ship
In the middle of a storm on the North Sea
And that storm was so rough that I thought I would die
That ship felt as light as a toy
And I prayed all night on my hands and my knees
And the storm finally let up
The captain let out a yell and a cry
As the sun broke through from the sky
Now I’ve seen a lot of things

I watched my sister give birth to my niece in a room
In a hospital in San Diego
I was supposed to take pictures of the whole shebang
I smiled when she made me the offer
But when I got in that room and it started to happen
My eyes filled with tears and my hands couldn’t move
The doctor just laughed and my sister just sighed
I was frozen in time and I started to cry
Now I’ve seen a lot of things

well steve poltz its been a long while since we saw u back in Australia but ur coming and we r excited. i have made quite a few ppl convert to the steve poltz fan base. not that i should write this in the comment section but hey were all friends right even if i have only met u twice and in cd signing situations.... mind u thats the best way to meet eh? i got a written 'i love u' so watch out ! anyway i write this again as i did last time you came to Freo, Perth, Australia, i would love to have you do an interview for my local radio show. i wanna get the whole of perth addicted to ur music as i am. get back to me if there is any chance i can convice you.... ps. where will the concert afters be this yr? the casino again or a house party... would love to offer my place as a house party venue. staishxx
