holiday song

thanks to Tom R for emailing this picture

I donít know how young I was in this photo. It must have been the early nineties. The guy with the goatee is Country Dick Montana from The Beat Farmers. He was a legend and still is. He died 10 years ago on stage playing the drums. I really miss him a lot. He used to give me sage advice like; ďitís a big stage, use every inch of it.Ē Stuff like that and other things I canít talk about here. The guy to the right of Dick was a d.j. on 91X named Oz. I think he is on the air in Colorado now somewhere. Cool leather jacket with fringe eh? My haircut looks so innocent and sweet. Where did it all go wrong? I donít know who the other guy is on the right. Maybe a comedian named Russ T. Nailz.

We go down some potholed road
For some stuffing in a house
We eat lots and lots of turkey
Drink some wine and we get soused
Do a back flip in shag carpet
Donít drive your car make sure you park it
And be thankful for your friends
Be sure to make amends
So I send you all my wishes
Help your Mother with those dishes
I hope your lucky numberís 7
And youíre safe at home or home in heaven
I hope your lucky numberís 7
And youíre safe at home or home in heaven

Wasn't Russ T. Nailz a 91x dj around that time too or am I just imagining that?

Dang....10 years withoot Dick.

I feel blessed to have met the man, just as I feel blessed whenever Da Poltz recognizes Da Rev!

I was just singing Rub Somebody the Right Way to my kids in the truck and thinking back fondly on those Kelly's Pub days... Thinking back on Country Dick and others who left us far too soon...

Good ol' nostalgia. Love it. Love You too!

I think the guy on the far right is Billy Bones, the overnight DJ at 91X.
