I wish the wind would blow me back to
wish the wind would blow me back to
wish the wind would blow me back to you
The termites ate my memory
And I just cannot seem to see
Your face when you were so smiley
With eyes like lights on Christmas trees
Why do the good ones always leave and never give you warning?
The sun is hiding in the clouds I can't tell if it's morning
ahhh ahh ahhh ahh
2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate?
you are loved
The world goes on with newspapers
And mailmen and deliveries
But I just wanna stay inside
And get lost in my memories
Why do the good ones always leave and never give you warning?
The sun is shining down today I wish that it was pouring
ahhh ahh ahhh ahh
I wish the wind would blow me back to
wish the wind would blow me back to
wish the wind would blow me back to you

This is nice to hear especially after the sucky morning I've had. Can I push rewind and start the day all over?

Billy has a song like this. Song game-I am thinking...just like snow maps.

Posted by: Lisa at September 21, 2006 9:24 AM

Definitely a songwriting game song, Lisa. Bob has one too.

This sounds a little Elliott Smithish to me at times, Steven. Or is it just me?

Posted by: Frag at September 21, 2006 11:59 AM

You wrote that for my glove, didn't you?

Posted by: David Wells at September 21, 2006 1:13 PM

Lovely, really. Reminds me of an old Irish folk song.
I wish that it was pouring too.

Posted by: Andrea at September 22, 2006 11:14 AM

It IS pouring here. I wish it wasn't.

Wanna trade?

"I wish I was a tightrope walker with legs made out of gold. I'd hold you in my golden legs and never let you go......I wish the wind would do, what I want it to. And I wish the wind would blow me, blow me back to you." B. Schneider

Steve,
was listening to all these nice comments on the song... comments about the nice picture.. and how it matches... then well... something aout free english amatuer porn... and if you go further... even amatuer dog sex pictures... sex tryouts.. etc etc... wow... U know, you once told me i needed to learn how delete my history files.. and well, i since learned just not to look at that "forbidden fruit" lol... Steve, awesome song... and ur last belly up concert was killer! the stage dive was a plus... was there.. but never got a chance to say HI... only got to hold you up so you didn't hit the floor! sooooo. here is my Hi! Love you man! where ever you are! one last thing as i type here with my insomnia.... The bald guy.. on the show that is over now... Rock star Supernova... Yeah... what is his name.. hmmmm... I forgot... Oh.. yeah.. Magni was his name. anyway.. he was top three... and didn't win... the guy from canada.. like you! won. i asked my wife what he and your songs had in common.. she couldn't guess... so .. i said... he is from rejiavek, Iceland.. and in the good morning song.. there is a line where there is a "fax coming in from Rejiavek, iceland.. OOooohhh must be cold.... " I know ... way tooo much... but what the heck... it is sunay.. and tomorrow is columbus day.. and i have the day off.. so i'll sleep in... ;-)

it seems that every song you write, including all those solo diddys are all about Jewel?
face it, she's in love with a guy who rides a horse for a living...Let alone he looks like he smashed his face on the ground...
your much better looking stevie, but in life, it seems like Mrs. Right is always with Mr. Wrong..
After that one Album by Jewel (Beyonceesque) my god...what was it 040506...anyways...she should go back to slinging coffee..and you my friend should start a band..enough with these half baked word phrasings of monkeys and ballons, mixed with red stripe hype.
Move on....stop with the " I miss you Jewel hints" and you'll prosper.

if you put a period after "me," it's like a newscast on hustler t.v...

"I wish the wind would blow me. back to you."

Posted by: sean at October 16, 2006 6:39 AM

Back to you, Sean. I'm Tits McGhee, thanks for watching.

So I'm wondering -- do you think RK has a point? I'm pretty sure that Steve's had one or two gals since Jewel. Plus, I'm almost positive that The Perth Song is about George. I suppose it's possible that Steve still longs for his EDA, but I think it's much more likely that RK is projecting a bit. Is there a Dr. Freud in the house?

Posted by: Tussy at October 16, 2006 7:16 AM

I think Rhonda's the one obsessed w/ _____. And I should know. I mean... people who think all of Steve's love-ish songs are about her only think that because they aren't very well-informed about Steve. Sure, she's got a great rack, but I highly doubt that she was so stellar in the sack & such a wonderful person that he's still pining for her 10 years later.

Those songs are about me. Everyone knows that, duh.
