you're on your way home

grave.jpg

listen here

Trying to make sense of the pieces that broke apart
There ain't a road map for matters of the heart
Flipping the channels pretending it's ok
I hope I can see you before you go away

The news of the war just keeps getting worse
Bombs and soldiers and flags with a hearse
Broke apart families torn in strife
using clinical terms for the loss of a life

You're on your way home now
You're on your way home
Rest in peace you're alone now
You're on your way home

The garbage collectors and robbers keep fighting
Kalashnikov rifles and infared lighting
Everyone's got a plan of revenge
Armies are licking their chops to avenge

A death is a death no matter the race
Children are learning to kill in their place
Where love used to rule it's rule of the wild
A mother still cries at the loss of her child

"Kalishnikov rifles and infrared lighting"

This line jumps out at me. I love it. I don't know why. But I do.

Steve, Wonderful song! filled with "today", love and hope! Thanks! I love the song.. I'm going to share it with Grace now! Hey, I was wondering if you fell off the edge of the earth! Finally some shows... That's it.. I'm renting a car and driving from Oceanside to see you at old ironsides, Sacramento! Need a ride? How about a driver, amped on that new brand of coffee to keep me wired! Hey, been watching the American idol on Tivo... Seen Jewel there on the panel... Hey.. maybe if she caught the flu... was too sick to attend.. she can call you to fill in. I think you would make a great judge! Thanks for the new songs.. what a way to bring in 2007! See ya at Old Ironsides.... Sacramento or bust! Hopefully no ladies will fall off there chair in the middle of the show! Lol... Yeah.. i got a copy of the cd.. the recording even piced it up!
Cheers,
mark
