Knocked in the dirt

dirt.jpg

I am no longer rooting for The Padres. Why should I? Why do I care? It just breaks my heart. I don't even like them anymore and that's fine with me. I play music for a living. I don't need to be wasting my time rooting for some professional team when I have enough to worry about. I have a new restaurant slash bar. R/B. I have shows to play. Sock drawers to rearrange and planes to catch. I have to make the world safe. I need to work on peace and quiet for all on this wild planet. Why should I care about a dumb game that's made for kids.? I have adult things to do, like go to the dentist and do my taxes. Write songs and sing them. Like I need The Padres to define me. The stupid Red Sox came in to San Diego and took two out of three. Big deal. I really don't care anymore and that's all I'm going to say aboutit. Cheese and rice! I am a musician for chrissakes. Not some dumb ass sports fan. Thank God i finally figured it out.
I am going out to buy a gun and I'm shooting a hole through my tv set when ESPN Baseball Tonight comes on tonight. You may see me on the evening news.
Good riddance,
Steve

Nice R/B by the way!!! NICE!!!

It's about time you wised up about baseball.

I had cheese and rice for dinner tonight.

Posted by: Frag at June 24, 2007 6:52 PM

p.s.: I hope you got a chance to read those books & listen to the CDs before you gave up baseball for sock drawer arrangement.

Posted by: Frag at June 24, 2007 6:56 PM

so....are you and westy still talkin'? ;)

Posted by: ~d. at June 24, 2007 7:02 PM

mmmm...cheese and rice!

Posted by: lisa at June 24, 2007 8:31 PM

So with baseball off the agenda, you should have time to come back down to Osstrayliah. Yes?

Posted by: Meg at June 25, 2007 1:02 AM

you should be a yankee fan. it's a lot easier. 'cause, you know...they're better.

Tough luck for the Pads. The Dodgers are no better, In fact, I think they are worse. I'm off baseball myself. I can't believe I spent so many wasted hours watching the rich get richer. There are much better things to do. I just re-arranged my clothes closet. Love your new restaurant and bar.

Cheers, Manpa

who said: "i love baseball, the game was made to break yer heart?"

Posted by: ash at June 25, 2007 10:08 AM

yeah right, what ash said.
the picture...f'ing hilarious!

Posted by: k at June 25, 2007 10:14 AM

post script ~ did i read correctly, that pa poltz is admitting - in print - that the dodgers are no better than the pads? statistically speaking this is true. i suspect this comment was carefully worded to protect the innocent at playoff time! ;)

Posted by: ash at June 25, 2007 10:59 AM

I am so sad for you....

Dear Ladies of the Poltz Family-

Never have I seen two bigger girlie girls disguised as grown men. Why do you hate Jon Miller? Don't you know that he'll lose his job if you two continue to promote your anti-baseball heresies? Songs and socks have a place in this world, and those places are approximately 30 million places behind baseball. What would Leo Durocher have to say about all this?

Rearranging like articles of clothing in close proximity is a noble and necessary activity, in which some might find a measure of solace. But if you think a tidy sock drawer or an august wardrobe could ever eclipse the shiny, glorious baseball gene floating in your bodies at this very second, then you my grand dames, are profoundly off course.

Please wrap up this pity party and resume your regularly scheduled agenda of heaping far too much of your growth and self-esteem upon the pursuits of athletic millionaires. Full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes!

Cordially,
J. Patrick Daly

Shut up Westy. Down with baseball!

Posted by: Frag at June 26, 2007 5:57 AM

I totally agree with Frag on this one...the baseball part. : )

Posted by: Lisa at June 26, 2007 8:19 AM

Posted by: Shaeffer at June 26, 2007 3:07 PM

nothing against the poltz girls,
but mr. daly is fuuunnnnnny!
when do i get to meet this westy guy?

Posted by: klee at June 26, 2007 4:46 PM

westy hangs out at bowling alleys.
find one in san diego and he's usually there.
260 average by the way.

Posted by: steverino at June 27, 2007 9:45 AM

Oh, baby, can't be that bad, surely. You'll get over it. Sport is only a game after all, no matter what it is. The Universe will take care of the balance eventually.
Loved the Cat song. Thanks for looking after my sister Kate, and Deano, when they visited Mineral Wells. They had a blast. The highlight of their lives so far, I'd say.
Big hugs, xoxo Jeni, Aussie Land.
