I was going to Jump but I decided I wasn't worth it

camping.jpg

That Padres game was a heartbreaker to say the least. But it sure was a fun ride while it lasted. They're done for the season and I can get back to life. Hats off to The Rockies and to The Phillies. I have the whole off season to think about this. I thought if I updated this blog that I would jinx the Pads. That's how screwed up I am. Oh well, now I can get back to business.

The picture above was taken in Prince Edward Island a few days ago. Right now I'm back in Nova Scotia playing more shows at a music conference thingy in Liverpool. I went swimming yesterday in White Point and ate some great Atlantic salmon. Life is good but I can't get that sinking Padre feeling out of my system.

Off to New York tomorrow to drown my sorrows in the taping of The Hugh Thompson Show in New Yoooooork City.

I'll be sad tp leave Halifax. The land of my birth and home of some great friends.

I'm Back,
Steve

The first thing a co-worked said to me this morning..."Is Steve OK"......not a good morning, hello,....but how's my "song writer friend from Sandy Eggo"

Posted by: jimt at October 2, 2007 8:26 AM

oh the agony. i thought for sure we were destined to win it in the 13th - i kept yelling "do it for the letter M!" but then 14 came with a bang ... and went sour on the rebound.

those rockies played like they wanted it - i wish i could say the same for my boyz. and hoffman - oh hoffy WHY? why didn't we let thatcher have one last go?

this is all the proof i need to confirm that the game is made to break hearts. mine won't be the same until spring training.

safe travels in the land of canadia. catch a chilly wave for me!

lou and rain cancelled my show so I can come see you now. see? you're not the only one lou hates...

If you had no emotional attachment that had to be the most exciting game all season. How about that Matt Holliday? Pure Okie power in him, even if he was out at home. I guess it should have been two outs winning run on first. The big question is whether or not Tony Gwynn Jr. can show his face in San Diego anymore. You can take solace in the fact that you aren't a Met fan.

Steve, I can totally understand the jinx fear and not updating the blog. Karma happens! I just hope you changed your boxers in the last 30 days - some guys don't you know , especially during baseball season!

Miss you
Love this picture!

You are on the ball with that... but i do agree with Billy, "that guy still needs to touch homebase!! "

Watching Los Padres lose was like having cranberry hives and dysentery at the same time...Itchy and painful with lingering after-effects that leave one feeling empty inside (and still itchy).

Dear friend..poor Padres, poor us. Life goes on. Spring training is just around the corner ;-)
Be well.

Where does Fredo fit into all this? Does he get your support, or do you just pretend he doesn't exist (like Bush and sick, uninsured children)?

Look, I'm really sorry about your beloved Padres, but I come from a land which is not BBall mad, and I can not even begin to understand it all. I refuse to even try. But while I commiserate with you Stevey Boi, I must admit I also breathe a sigh of relief.

While you've been holding YOUR breath for a Padre win, I've been holding MINE for a new SJJP cd release. Maybe ONE of us can get what we desire before Earth implodes & life as we know it is banished forever in a blip. Yes?

Have been hearing rumors. They're pretty rumors. They whisper sweet nothings of a release in January '08... and whisper even sweeter of a (shhhh) DOUBLE cd! (?)

There's confirmation of a Aussie Tour which I hyperventilate about every time I even think about it (you'll be hearing from me in the near future requesting a possible duet at The Troubadour in BrisVegas - IF I can muster up the courage!) and I just think it's about time you put us all out of our misery & posted an album update.

I mean... now that you can concentrate on it and all....

Hey, I've been meaning to ask you -- why don't you think you're worth it? I sure think you're worth it. In fact, you're worth all the tea in China, all the cigars in Cuba, all the vodka in Russia and all the disSgraced athletes in the US COMBINED. So quit selling yourself short. You're definitely worth "it".

Hey Steve,

Kimberly in Portland ore-ee-gone.....

(Nancy's daughter S.D)

So....sorry to say, I am going to miss you in San Diego by two days in November. Drats! We are coming down to visit my momma over Turkey day and hopefully dry out and soak in some vitamin D.

I am sending you an e-mail to see how I can get a copy of your Sewing Machine song! My mom said it is NOT on your children's album....

I just completed my Master's in Teaching and am Subbing up here...When you performed it up here on Mississippi...I instantly knew it needed to be converted into a creative writing project for my imaginary kids in one of my future classrooms.

I think it would be great to have the song this time of year ( Halloween) , so I can have them listen to it and then have them write their own scary-song, poem, creative write etc...and hopefully have some of them perform their own pieces of work ......hmmm.....What do you think???? Poe, Poltz, and Washington Irving...

I hope you, friends and family are out of harms way. Hope to hear from you soon. And I hope you will be back to P town in the Spring??

Sending you Oregon Rain
-Kimberly Meade

Wednesday: Play Ball! Day One.....Padres...there is always next year!! Btw: I still have the hardest time adjusting to Qualcom/petco Stadium...I am a Jack Murphy kid thru and thru....Jr. Padre Seven Up club member...... I think you should write a song about all the amazing ball fields with historical names selling out to the commercialism/business moula la side of things....Petco? Come on... You should interview old timers who still follow the game and see how they all feel about the name change and thred their voices into some of your genius writing capabilities..Just a thought!....Nostalgia, there is something about it- in my opinion you can't put a price on it.....But I am a sentimental girl-ie....
