My Day As A Sausage

sausage-longview.jpg

There were 5 sausages. I was the one in stripes. Polish sausage! It was one of the greatest days of my life. Unfortunately I lost at the races. I can't make any excuses so I'm just going to lie and say I won. Yeah, that's the ticket, I won.

One of the coolest things was running by in last place and hearing some drunken fan yell,"Hey Polish Sausage! You suck!" I was laughing so hard I thought i was going to pee in my suit. Check out my running form!

My close up..

Post-show bliss

I would like to thank Sue Schrader for hooking this up. She made it all happen. I would also like to thank my personal trainer. I am off to Michigan to play in a barn.

I have a video of the race I will post later. We have a 7 hour drive.

I never thought I would see the day where you turned into a sausage. Nice trick there, Poltzy!
I'm impressed regardless if you won or not (lets just say you did).
You would make a mean main course!
ROCK!

You're even sexy as a sausage! I bet you taste good too. Too bad living in Deustchland burned me out of eating those. That and pork are a rare occurence on our menu at home.

You're a weiner, no loser here. Polish sausages rule!!!

i have it on verifiable authority that the friar costume has been violated while sheltering more than one puppetmaster... makes me wonder what goes on in a sausage while it's out of the public eye.

that pic of you running is hilarious... absolutely all time! you can just say you were empathizing with the brewers for the beating they took as well.

go padres! may isn't over yet....

That was so great! The running picture is awesome. Virginia and I were both in tears. I can't WAIT for the video. I tivo'd the game and they DIDN'T SHOW THE WIENER RACE! What? like Atlanta Braves fans are too uptight to enjoy the running of the meat? Sheesh.

Kiss the mitten for me!!

I would have lost even with a losers head start 'cause I hate running more than mince meat raisin pie for dessert!!!

Dear Steve - I think you look cute in that costume!
I'm sad for you that you lost!
I hope you win in your next wiener race.

Steve,
I am a sportswriter and I covered the Brewers last year. I'm also a big fan of your music. I chatted with Tim Flannery when the Giants were in town last year but still haven't had a chance to see you live.

I missed seeing you at Summerfest a time or two because I didn't know you were there at the time and I didn't get off work then.

Keep up the great songwriting. Hopefully I'll catch you when you hit Milwaukee next time. But that you were recently in the sausage race tells me I missed you being in town again.
