holiday song

thanks to Tom R for emailing this picture
I don’t know how young I was in this photo. It must have been the early nineties. The guy with the goatee is Country Dick Montana from The Beat Farmers. He was a legend and still is. He died 10 years ago on stage playing the drums. I really miss him a lot. He used to give me sage advice like; “it’s a big stage, use every inch of it.” Stuff like that and other things I can’t talk about here. The guy to the right of Dick was a d.j. on 91X named Oz. I think he is on the air in Colorado now somewhere. Cool leather jacket with fringe eh? My haircut looks so innocent and sweet. Where did it all go wrong? I don’t know who the other guy is on the right. Maybe a comedian named Russ T. Nailz.
LISTEN HERE!!!
We go down some potholed road
For some stuffing in a house
We eat lots and lots of turkey
Drink some wine and we get soused
Do a back flip in shag carpet
Don’t drive your car make sure you park it
And be thankful for your friends
Be sure to make amends
So I send you all my wishes
Help your Mother with those dishes
I hope your lucky number’s 7
And you’re safe at home or home in heaven
I hope your lucky number’s 7
And you’re safe at home or home in heaven
Love,
Steve
