am i invited to the wedding? can you say "wedding crasher?"

Posted by: dawn at March 7, 2006 11:59 PM

Random note, but when I got married, my wife re-arranged "Everything about you" into a duet and had the band play it at the reception.
I think I would much rather have heard you do it. 11 months later the b#@+ch moved back to New Jersey, so maybe you can do it at my next wedding.
Hahahahaha
Have Fun!

I have nothing to say about exceptionally talented and influential songwriters who are also performers playing weddings instead of stadium concerts, it does strike me as odd thet Steve plays all these small dates is widely not regarded by fans east of San Diego and into the Northeast where I reside. For me, Steve is virtually on par with the best in the business considering today and yesteryear. There has got to be a reason that will eventually be revealed about Steve that will cause me to step beck as a CD reviewer filled with curiousity about his motives or those of his handlers. Maybe they are playing rope a dope.

Dude...don't be jealous. Just because you're not invited to the wedding doesn't mean Steve ever stopped loving you!

I wanna go to the wedding. I'm sure I know those people from somewhere. Tucson is a small town. :D Is there a tucson venue that weekend other than the wedding where we could see Steve without being arrested? Please please please?!

check it out....from the Tucson Weekly by Stephen Seigel

“I nearly missed Steve Poltz and the Rugburns (and, alas, did miss Loveland’s opening set), but I luckily arrived just in time for their last few songs. In the mid-‘90s The Rugburns were a rootsy, guitar-pop band that played story-songs funny enough to be considered comedy-rock, but written with enough pathos to transcend that ghetto. They parted ways in 1998 when Poltz left to pursue a solo career, so it was exciting for those of us who were fans of the band to hear the old songs played with a rhythm section again—and to find that their goofy charm remains intact. Example: During “Hitchhiker Joe,” Poltz and the bassist busted out Kiss-like choreographed rock moves in between “bomp-bomp-bomp-bomp’s” and Poltz took a quiet moment in the song as an opportunity to launch into an impromptu a cappella Joni Mitchell medley. They were clearly having as much fun as anyone in the room” (including the woman with the purple wig).
